An economic calendar is useful because it provides scheduled dates for important market events, such as economic data releases, central bank meetings, and key reports, allowing traders to anticipate volatility, adjust their strategies, and manage risk effectively.Β
One trick that I use (especially in a range) is looking at the top 20 components in the S&P500... if these companies are flat (% change below +/- 0.5%) then, chances are, the overall market will also be balanced... notice how META and AMZN have % chg's above 1%... those are the ""leading"" names so far today... if they continue to rally, they should pull the overall market up with them... if they begin to roll over, market should follow... for now, ES is down 3 points relative to Friday's close (not much edge)

Accepted Prices β Directional auctions continue until rejection.
Rejected Prices β Price moves back to an accepted level.
Incomplete auctions tend to continue until they reach completion.
Auctions accumulating volume at a level are likely to continue until inventory exhausts and rejection occurs.
Which direction is the market attempting to move?
If the auction is accepted, where is it likely to go?
If the auction is rejected, where might it return?
